Hello fellow Newgroundians :D


About a week ago I said that I'd be Releasing the next game in the hunted series, otherwise known as BURIED.

since then, I've been trying make it as good as possible, so I've put it on hold for the time being.

You guys may or may not know that I'm trying to make these games episodically, similarly to the lakeview cabin collection for a free steam release (which you can whishlist here)

all that being said, I still got surprises waiting, so keep an eye out.


on an totally unrelated note, I've been playing the exmortis games recently ;)

With Athena's highwire out of the demo phase and the other games getting patches, I'm happy to announce Athena's circus!


Athena's circus is a FREE Steam compilation of all of my Athena games with a few exclusive features*

(Should be out before April, I'll post a link to the steam page when it's ready)


*controller support and music for highwire

(For whatever reason, music doesn't work for highwire's web version)

This may look unimpressive... And it is, BUT there are many new techniques I've used so far in development, I'll list off every new thing!


1: this is my first pico-8 game to utilize a camera system! (It's just used to take you between levels)


2: dynamic hazards!

In my previous games, every object was copy-pasted, which is really inefficient, but this one utilizes tables, so we can have as many items as we want without having to copy code!


3: multiple characters!

I'm not gonna say who yet, since all the appearances aren't set in stone, but the framework is there!


4: and of course, Free movement.

NO LONGER ARE WE TRAPPED IN THREE SPECIFIC LANES!!!


(I also want to do lives, but it isn't implemented yet)

Over the past few months, I've spent my time developing wolfdale in PGMMV, A no-code engine, but I feel like I've hit a wall with the project.


But when I picked up pico-8 a few months ago, I saw just how freeing it is to code exactly what you want, which is how I made the Athena games.


That being said I can't use pico-8 for Wolfdale, cause it's also very limited (my games nearly maxed out the sprite limit)


So I've decided to port wolfdale to Gamemaker Studio2!


I will update you all when I get most of the essentials remade!

I've implemented a buncha objects, and unlike Athena's show, they're all animated!

(Except for the pipes themselves of course)


Mechanically, nearly everythings there, all I need to do is make difficulty go up over time, add a game over/restart, and a title screen.

The idea is very similar to Athena's show, but instead of dodging tomatoes, you're fixing the circus boiler steam leaks.


And instead of a one hit game over, you will have a pressure meter that'll go down as long as there's a leak.


If things go well, it'll be finished before next Monday :D


(Of course it'll have a Newgrounds release)
